Hats off to Replit

Replit

The past year has been the most challenging of my life. It's also been the most rewarding.

Rewarding because I've worked with the brightest, most driven people in the world.

Rewarding because I've learned things about myself I never knew.

Rewarding because I've helped tens of thousands realize they can CREATE and BUILD.

Being mission-driven is about more than money. It's about impact on real-life human beings.

We are on the precipice of the COMPLETE AND TOTAL democratization of creativity.

I learned Python with a textbook. That is now a thing of the past. Anyone can learn by building a working application in 5 minutes.

This is the MOST EXCITING TIME in humanity to be an educator. My job is simple: show people what they can do. And they can do infinitely more now than 9 months ago.

I've watched people succeed and fail my entire life: school, sports, fitness, career. The ones who succeed weren't chasing dollars or stats.

What I'm about to say contradicts 'the algorithm' and what you see on the internet, but it is reality:

There are no dollars at 5am or 10pm. There are no dollars when it's you and a screen. Or when you need to do some very unsexy work.

No dollars when you're alone somewhere new. No dollars when you're trying and repeatedly failing.

No dollars when things are unfair, life sucks, or you feel like a victim.

But dollars aren't the point.

Creating, motivating, and growing is the point.

And if you can't find it in yourself to grind when no one is telling you to...

If you can't pick yourself up and get 1% better SIMPLY BECAUSE YOU CARE...

It's unlikely you'll make it to the part where there are dollars.

I work with exceptional builders.

I might seem busy because I'm always yapping, but they actually ship product. I just spread the word.

Hats off to the outstanding engineers, designers, operators, & leaders who built Replit.

Hats off to those grinding when no one was looking—few see all the work.

Hats off to everyone who got us where we are today.

Most importantly, thank you to our users and supporters. The product wouldn't be the same without you. You make my job fun.

The mission is to improve lives through software. It's been inspiring to watch it come to life.

I can't wait to see where it goes next. 🧡
